Network Administrator **Must have a DOD Secret Clearance*** Overview: This position will provide technical support for network management, maintenance, upgrades of the for our customer at Scott AFB, LAN and the ancillary networks that support our mission to ensure 24x7 availability, building and configuring network infrastructure devices, hardware lifecycle replacement, property accountability, wireless AP/IDS/IPS support, network service management (access controls, firewalls, Bluecoat, TACACs, 802.1x, ForeScout, Solarwinds, etc.), vulnerability mitigation and documentation, network security investigations/forensics, biweekly Change Advisory Board participation, attend weekly teleconferences, incident escalation, and tracking trouble tickets via GTMS and/or ITSM. Responsibilities: *Establishes networking environment by installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment and systems in according with DoD standards or best practices. *Maximizes network performance and availability by monitoring resource utilization, trending, and capacity. *Track trouble tickets via GTMS and/or ITSM. *Collaborates with network and domain architects on network optimization. *Troubleshoots network problems and outages; schedules and implements patches, upgrades, hot fixes, and security configurations. *Secures network system by enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. *Serves as liaison with user departments and vendors to communicate, evaluate and implement new network technologies and systems. *Manages and maintains network documentation, equipment inventories, and SOP's. *Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards. *Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architect(s) and senior network engineer(s) on network optimization. *Report/monitor network operational status, performance availability, resource utilization, trending and capacity planning. *Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, WLAN, etc). *Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues. *On-site hours for this job are 0700-1630, Monday through Friday. *On-call hours are 1631-0659, Monday through Friday, as well as on-call 24 hours per day during weekends and holidays. Position Overview: The SCCM engineer works at Fort Meade and supports a large federal agency's Software Release and Deployment team.
