Provides on-site day to day technical and customer support, system and network administration to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Information Technology Services (ITS) Technical Support Division, (TSD) Large Office, Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia (WDCLO) On-site work is performed at the National Headquarters (NHQ) offices in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, VA, and Beltsville, MD. IT support for LAN administration; database administration support for Microsoft SQL and Oracle database; support for Print and Fax servers; support for Storage Area Network; support for Mac PCs and printers; support for moving IT Equipments; support for ESRI technologies including Arc View, ArcInfo, ArcGIS; CCE Windows Systems; Security Support for all ITS infrastructure and network components including systems located other than the current physical location; service desk administration. Perform daily, incremental, weekly, monthly and complete server backup; regularly Monitor system backup to ensure data validity; system administration, hardware and software troubleshooting; hardware repairs; resolving Security Issues; IT equipment moves, (i.e., personal computers, printers, facsimile machines, and servers); packaging/identifying extraneous equipment for storage or reassignment; shipping and receiving IT equipment; disconnecting and reconnecting cables to remove excess.
